The first three months or 12 weeks of pregnancy is called the first trimester. During this time the body would go through many different changes and will face many different problems at the same time. Any pregnant women will certainly want to stay as healthy as possible during this stage and therefore they should consider certain things.

Certainly choices that you make during the early stages will have a serious effect upon the development and future of your child. Therefore when you find that you are pregant, you should immediately stop any sort of bad habits that you might have had. Addictions such as drinking too much alcohol or smoking too much should be cut down completely and immediately.

At this point it is absolutely crucial that all of the food that you eat is very nutritious and will provide you with all of the necessary energy you need to help your baby to grow. You should therefore cut out junk food and focus on getting a very healthy diet. In addition, you should eat smaller meals to combat the morning sickness that you might suffer from.

Getting regular checkups with your local doctor will also be very important. Getting every month or so will be a very good way of making sure that everything is okay with your child and with your own health. If ever there is anything that you feel is not quite right you should always see your doctor about it immediately in order to answer any queries or pressing issues that you face.

Exercising is another thing that you should continue to do if you are already involved in a good exercise regime. You can also about your current regime to take in different exercises that will be suitable for your current condition. These will often help you to reduce your baby weight a lot more quickly after you have given birth as well.
